# Banking API

The Banking API provides access to bank account information and payment services. For information about the PSD2 directive and its role in our platform, see [PSD2](/apis/banking/v4/about/psd2).

## Introduction

The Banking [REST](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Representational_state_transfer) API is organized around retrieving
bank information from a large number of banks on-demand.

Our API uses resource-oriented endpoint paths, accepts [Json-Encoded](https://www.json.org/json-en.html) request bodies,
returns [Json-Encoded](https://www.json.org/json-en.html) responses, and uses standard HTTP response codes and verbs.

## Integrations

The Banking API supports all Norwegian business banks, connect your own accounts
to see how it works and what data is available.
